About Marloo

Our mission: To free advisers to spend their day with people, not pixels. We are building the AI assistant that handles the paperwork that is burying advisers. Marloo transforms client conversations into crisp, compliant documentation, streamlining the tedious tasks that stand in the way of great work. By making admin vanish, we empower advisers to focus on what matters most: building deep client relationships and delivering exceptional financial guidance.

Our approach: We're going far beyond being an AI scribe. We started with meeting notes and we're sprinting toward advice-specific workflows: auto-generating advice documents, drafting client emails, building new features to become an AI native system of record. We're moving advisers from "doer" to "reviewer” by being hyper-specialised for financial advice. General AI tools don't understand regulations and compliance, client contexts, or advice workflows. Marloo does.

Our traction: We started building the product in February, launched in April, and now have paying customers in AU, UK and NZ, with 50% week-on-week growth.

Why we're winning: We’re obsessed with our power users. They are our north star, and their feedback guides every product decision. This focus is our moat. It ensures we build a product that solves a core problem so effectively that users genuinely pull it into their daily workflows.

Our investors: We've raised funding from Blackbird VC (one of the worlds leading VC funds) and early employees/founders from OpenAI, Xero, Revolut, Adyen, Wise, Halter, Sharesies and more!

Our founders: Marloo was founded by Shakeel Lala and Hardy Michel:

• Shak led Company Partnerships product at Sharesies, delivering multi-million dollar products for New Zealand & Australia’s largest enterprises (including Fonterra, Air New Zealand, Spark). Background in strategy consulting (Strategy&, Orica) and holds a degree in Maths & Engineering.
• Hardy was 2nd employee at Sharesies, led operations to serve 600k+ investors and $2.5bn+ AUM. Headhunted to build the future of European investing at Lightyear. As Head of Brokerage, led platform product which included banking and investments expansion across 22 European countries.
